Healthcare generates enormous amounts of information. But more information does not automatically create more understanding.
A patient's story lives across symptoms, clinical encounters, test results, specialist notes, patient observations, and changes over time. The question is rarely whether the information exists. It's whether the right information is sought, recognized, interpreted, communicated, and connected when it matters most.

About the Creator
Brenda (Sarayah) Obonyo is a healthcare information strategist, patient partner, and researcher working at the intersection of health information, patient experience, and system design.
She built Signals in the Noise around one central question:
What happens when the information needed to understand a patient exists, but the system fails to recognize its significance?
Her work looks at healthcare not just through the information a system captures, but through what it overlooks, fragments, misreads, or never connects. Signals in the Noise grew out of that lens, treating diagnostic delay not as an isolated clinical failure, but as a systems and information problem worth examining closely.
Signals in the Noise is an invitation to look closely at what happens between information being present and information becoming meaningful.
